This is a complimentary and informative tour of Florida’s historical agricultural town of Clewiston, including the Clewiston Historical Museum, Southern Gardens Citrus, US Sugar, and their state of the art facilities, the Herbert Hoover Dike and other sites unique to the area. This experience will show you how sugarcane, sweet corn and oranges are grown, harvested, and processed. While there, we will view the latest in sustainable farming techniques as well as journey to the Clewiston sugar mill, sugar refinery and citrus juice plant.

The complimentary tour is limited to one bus for each date. Transportation will be arranged on your behalf as will a complimentary lunch at either Roland Martin’s Marina, the Clewiston Country Club or Sonny’s BBQ.

Tentative departure time is 7:45 AM from the Jewish Federation of Greater Naples, 2500 Vanderbilt Beach Rd #2201, (parking lot) with a return time of approximately 4:30 PM.

Please arrive 10 minutes before our scheduled departure time so we remain on schedule.

It is recommended to bring a light jacket on the bus and to wear closed-toed shoes.

Open to members and their spouses/significant others. NO CHARGE. SPACE IS LIMITED !

7:30-8:00 AM Depart Jewish Federation Parking Lot

9:30 AM Arrive at Clewiston Chamber of Commerce, 109 Central Avenue, Clewiston, Florida

9:30-11:30 AM Tour Herbert Hoover Dike, Lake Okeechobee, sugarcane fields and water systems

11:30 – 12:30 PM Break for complimentary lunch

12:30 – 2:00 PM Tour of citrus juice plant, sugarcane mill and refinery

2:00 – 2:45 PM Return to Clewiston Chamber of Commerce and tour museum

2:45PM Depart Clewiston to return to Naples

4:00 - 5:00 PM Arrive in Naples
