Parent EducatorMindy became a PAT Educator after retiring from a teaching career of 25 years. This is her sixth year as a parent educator. She and her husband, Pete, a retired administrator for the Wellsville-Middletown School District, live in Vandalia. They have three grown daughters, and three grandchildren

What is Parents as Teachers?
Parents as Teachers is a parent education and support program for families with children from birth to kindergarten entry, as well as expectant parents. It is designed for parents to help their child learn, grow and develop to realize his/her full potential.
Parents as Teachers Vision: All Children will learn, grow and develop to realize their full potential.
Parents as Teachers Mission: PAT promotes the optimal early development, learning and health of children by supporting and engaging their parents and caregivers.

Personalized Home Visits with a certified Parent Educator
Annual Health, Hearing and Vision Screening
Annual Developmental Screening
Group Connection Events
Access to our Resource and Referral Network
Fall/Winter PAT Visits
Our program is transitioning to in-person home visits! We can do them outside or inside depending on the comfort level of your family. You and your parent educator can discuss what will work best for your family. Virutal visits are also available for those who feel more comfortable with that opiton.
Upcoming Group Connections
Our PAT program schedules Group Connections throughout the year. These family events are designed with fun and learning in mind. During in-person group connections, families will be encouraged to social distence, and hand sanitizer and antibacteral wipes will be available. In the event that the school districts in our county go to virtual learning, our program wll coordinate some virtual group connections as well.
***All in-person Group Connections are subject to cancellation depending on the covid-19 situtaion in our county. We will continue to seek the health department's guidence as we move forward. Please check our Facebook page for the most up-to-date information.

2022 Spring Screening Dates
Preschool Screenings at Montgomery City and Jonsburg elementary will be held for all children who are 4 years old by July 31, 2022.
Jonesburg Elementary School: Wednesday, March 16, 2022
Montgomery City Elementary: Friday, April 8, 2022

Preschool and Kindergarten Screenings will be held at the Wellsville-Middletown elementary school for all children turnng 3 or 4 by July 31, 2022 for preschool OR children turning 5 by July 31, 2022 for kindergarten enrollment.

Montgomery Co. is an affiliate of the Dolly Parton Foundation. Dolly's Imagination Libary is available to children living in our county. Each month an age appropiate book is mailed to children ages birth to five. Children recieve their last book the month they turn five.
