Miguel Barrero

I am a postdoc at the University of Aberdeen. My mentor is Irakli Patchkoria. My research interests include various questions within equivariant and global homotopy theory. A common thread in most of my research is how the structure and properties of various groups and subcategories of groups is reflected in the homotopy theoretic side.

Previously, I obtained my PhD at Radboud University in Nijmegen, under the supervision of Magdalena Kędziorek. I did my Master in Mathematics at Universität Bonn, and my Bachelor in Mathematics at Universidad Complutense de Madrid.

Together with Irakli we are organizing the workshop Groups and Stable Homotopy Theory in Aberdeen from Wednesday 26th to Friday 28th August 2026.
