Max Snyder is a PhD candidate at UC Berkeley ARE working on projects in environmental, urban, and labor economics. His research uses natural experiments to explore questions related to regional inequality, the energy transition, and climate resilience.

His work has been supported by the California Policy Lab, the Giannini Foundation, the Institute for Research on Labor and Employment, the Opportunity Lab, and Resources for the Future. He has previously worked with the Environmental Defense Fund and the Energy Policy Institute at the University of Chicago. His research has been cited in media outlets like Bloomberg and Politico’s E&E News.

Outside of work, he loves music, cooking, and biking. He was born and raised in New York City.
