Peni Parker hails from Earth 14512, where, in the year 3145, Spider-Man is not one individual, but a duo of a radioactive spider and a pilot; operating a 9′ mech called SP//dr. Her father was the previous operative of SP//dr, who died in the line of duty. Her Aunt May and Uncle Ben briefed her on the situation. They explained it to her as though she was an adult, and told her that due to her genetics, she was the only one who could bond with the SP//dr unit. She accepted, and now at the age of 14, she defends the New York of the future as SP//dr.

She would soon come to learn that her world is not the only one, that there is a collection of different worlds, and in almost each of these, a being with abilities similar to those and her suit. She would also come to learn that she is being hunted by the Inheritors, who feed off of people like her. Peni would retaliate, along with the other Spider-People of the multiverse, and she would survive two encounters with the Inheritors. While she still has her duties as SP//dr, Peni is also willing to accept the duties of being a part of this Spider-Verse.
