“I PUT ALL THE PAIN YOU GAVE TO ME ON DISPLAY”

Once, there was a man named Morgan Ducard. He was an angry, vengeful man who was especially angry with the actions of one Bruce Wayne, due to personal reasons stretching back to their pasts. But Bruce gave Morgan an idea, albeit indirectly: with Robin being effective... Why shouldn't he have one of his own? And so he tracked down his daughter, Maya, and took her. Mom tried to put up a fight... but it didn't matter much. Maya's records were scrubbed from every database which had them, and she became a ghost. She was three years old.

And so began tireless years of "training" Morgan put Maya through in order to shape her into a killer like him. She kept at it, because there was no other option, and while Maya would prove herself a fighter and an excellent hacker, she never had that same killer drive her father did. In addition, Maya had trouble getting with the program that she wasn't Maya Ducard anymore. She, and her father, were both Nobody now. No more, no less.

And then one day, Morgan said he had to go to Gotham. Said something about unfinished business. Maya had an order: stay on the boat, and wait for him to come back. He never did. And soon enough, people were wondering where the hell Morgan was. So Maya did what she had to do, and took over for him, becoming an info broker behind a computer screen, where no one could tell the difference. All while tracking down what really happened to her dad.

She found out the truth soon enough, that he was killed by the current Robin: Damian Wayne. Maya tracked him down, discovering that the boy was on a quest for atonement. She vowed to follow him through on this quest, and when he was done, kill him as revenge, making him her first kill. But as she traveled with the boy, she found that his redemption wasn't an act. Damian was genuine about wanting to be better than he was before. And so, Maya spared him, and forgave him for the murder of her father. Now, Maya joins the superhero community on occasion as Nobody, all while working to overcome the trauma of the abuse her father put her through.
