"THROUGH THE FIRE AND THE FLAMES WE CARRY ON"

A member of the Korbinite Species, Bill and his people’s homeworld were attacked by the Demon Surtur, who forced the Korbinites to embark on an exodus. However, due to the large number of them, it was decided that a champion was to journey with them, while they rested in a state of crysleep. Bill volunteered himself, and was experimented on by Korbinite scientists to create their greatest champion. Bill became cybernetically enhanced, his genome spliced with the DNA of one of the greatest predators of the Korbinites. When the process was completed, Bill shepherded the surviving Korbinites through the cosmos, in search of a new home. As the fleet approached the Milky Way, and by extension, Midgard, Thor was summoned by SHIELD to investigate. The thunder god’s energy was similar to that of the demons, and thus, Bill was prepared to fight the thunder god. During the fight, Bill managed to lift Thor’s enchanted hammer, Mjolnir, and proved himself worthy of the power of Thor. Odin brought both to Asgard, commanding that they duel for Mjolnir. While Bill won the fight, he was uneasy with leaving Thor to die, saving his life instead. Odin, as a sign of gratitude, gifted Bill with his own enchanted hammer, Stormbreaker.

But much has happened since. Stormbreaker has been destroyed by Thor Odinson, in desperation to stop the Black Winter. Beta Ray Bill has since moved into a new role as War Master of Asgard, granted access to the entire armory of Asgard. He has even found a new enchanted weapon, the Twilight Sword. Yet at the same time, he cannot help but think of his place in a universe which seemingly has no place for him…
