"LIFE'S SHORT"

Life is never easy for kids born in the Combat Zone of any major American city. Azrael Grey would be no exception. They grew up in a gang family in Pacifica. For what it was worth, life was bearable. Not good, but passable. When they were fourteen, a rival gang wasted the rest of Azrael's family, leaving them as the sole survivor. Revenge was the only thing that made sense.

Most of their family's belongings were taken by grave robbers, leaving them with little more than a sword and a gun. They could work with this. They spent the next three years waiting to be let loose, working up their skill and being augmented enough until they were ready to start taking jobs for money as a Solo.

At 17, Azrael would come into contact with a fixer by the name of Brick. Brick was a wiseguy and a friend, sometimes he set Azrael up to settle scores in exchange for cash. This working relationship went well... until Azrael discovered that Brick was one of the people responsible for the death of their family. Azrael responded by taking out an eye, and vowing to kill him the next time they met. One year later, Brick would set Azrael up for a murder. Typical business in Night City.

Nowadays, Azrael has taken up full time work as a Solo. They're a hired soldier who settles other people's scores, all the while looking for anyone else involved in the death of their family and killing them off. Cruel, but that's just the way things are in Night City. But the murder is coming back to haunt them, and Azrael is determined to clear their name.
