Ashley has worked with several diverse populations throughout her career. She specializes in working with children, pre-teens, teenagers, and adults. Ashley has a passion working with people who want to process and heal from trauma. She often works with people who grew up in dysfunctional families that experienced some form of trauma within these dynamics. These deep rooted experiences usually lead to secondary issues like experiencing symptoms of anxiety, depression, relationship issues, grief, addictions, co-dependency, and insecure attachments. In addition to working through trauma these secondary issues are also addressed. Ashley also has experience with providing parental support, psychoeducation on child and adolescent brain development, working through new life adjustments, and other emotional challenges. If recommended, she can offer play therapy techniques for children and teens in her counseling sessions as she is currently working towards credentialing as a registered play therapist.
Ashley's approach is to build meaningful and trusting relationships with clients and assist them with creating healthy changes in a safe and empowering way. Ashley believes in working together to get to the root cause of the issue. Some of the therapy modalities that are utilized in her practice are client -centered, solution focused, strengths-based, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), play therapy, attachment theory, and trauma focused therapy. These therapy modalities can help assist clients with their counseling treatment goals and enhance their emotional well-being.
