Intended Outcomes

Increase knowledge and understanding of depression era projects in the local area

Increase understanding of the influence of WPA and other projects on the local economy, culture, and labor.

Visit sites that were developed during the depression years, to give first hand appreciation of the historic projects

Raise awareness of the influence of the projects to better incorporate the 4 social studies strands of the Ohio State Standards: History, Geography, Government, and Economics

Recognize the importance of the continuing uses of WPA facilities and projects in the 21st century

Workshop - Trip Information

Date: Mon. &Tues. July 17 & 18, 2017

Time: 8:45 am-3:30 pm

Location: Mon. - Wolcott Church, Old Perrysburg Post Office, Toledo Zoo

Tues. - Pearson Park, Cherry St. Mission Revitalization Center

(former Macomber School), and Side Cut Park

Who: Educators, administrators, history lovers, and undergraduate students

Cost: $40 (Cost includes fees, tours, lunch on Tuesday, and contact hour certificates.)

* Non-Lucas County Residents need to pay admission to zoo if not a zoo member. BRING I.D.!

Parking is $7 per car. (Carpooling is suggested)

Lunch: Monday: bring your own or purchase at the zoo
