Summary: Showcase tinkering and innovation projects of ATL students on an Innovations Gallery.
To be able to showcase their tinkering or innovation projects to a larger audience and be appreciated for the work is something that all students aspire for. However, only a few students get the opportunity to do so during school or ATL events due to paucity of time or space. Students who don't get the opportunity to showcase may lose interest and drop out of the ATL sooner or later. It is very important to showcase every tiny tinkering or innovation project done by ATL students in order to retain their interest and motivation. It will also inspire many more students to become active at the ATL and emulate their peers.
Set up an Innovations Gallery in the ATL to showcase tinkering or innovation projects done by students. The Innovations Gallery can be physical or virtual.
A physical Innovation Gallery can display physical models or prototypes of tinkering or innovation projects completed by ATL students. If space is a constraint to showcase various tinkering & innovation projects in the ATL, we can create an online "Innovations Gallery" to achieve the same objective. The online Innovation Gallery can be in the form of a web-page (containing text, slides, photos or videos) and showcase various tinkering and innovation projects completed by ATL students.
The Innovations Gallery can be operationalized in the following way:
Set up a physical Innovations Gallery on a table within the ATL. Alternately, set up an Online Innovations Gallery in the form of a website or webpage.
Every month, ask ATL students to submit details of their tinkering or innovation projects (along with physical or virtual models, photos, videos, slide decks, team details) through a Google Form.
The Mentor can review the submissions for correctness and completeness.
The ATL in-charge can showcase all reviewed tinkering & innovation projects on the Innovations Gallery for a duration of one month.
All ATL students can view the tinkering & innovation projects showcased on the Innovations Gallery and get inspired. They can also seek help or guidance from the tinkerers & innovators whose projects have been showcased on the Innovations Gallery.
The following online tools can be used for setting up an Online Innovations Gallery at your ATL:
Google Forms to accept submissions to the Innovations Gallery from ATL students.
Google Sites for creating the Innovations Gallery website.
Here is a snapshot of an Online Innovations Gallery at an ATL showcasing tinkering & innovation projects done by its students. As can be seen, the Gallery showcases multiple student projects. Every project showcases a photo, video or a slide deck along with the name of the project, innovator names, date, awards & recognitions received, and pointers or links for additional information.
