I’m Nick, a maths and statistics tutor with a background in biomechanics and sport science. I’ve always loved helping people understand how numbers make sense in the real world, especially in sport, and that naturally shaped the way I teach.
Before tutoring, I taught at university level while completing my postgraduate degrees, which helped me develop a clear, supportive teaching style that works for different types of learners. Over the last four years, I’ve worked with students who struggled with confidence, focus, or traditional classroom explanations, and I’ve learned how powerful it is to tailor lessons to each individual.
A lot of my students are sporty or practical learners who want maths to feel relevant. Using real examples from biomechanics and sport performance helps them stay engaged and finally “get” the topics that used to feel impossible.
Outside tutoring, I’m a PhD researcher and spend a lot of time applying maths to real-world movement and performance problems which means I can always bring fresh, interesting examples into my lessons.
