I obtained my PhD from the Paris School of Economics in 2022. I am an Assistant Professor in the department of Economics at UC Berkeley. I am also a NBER faculty research fellow and a IZA research fellow affiliate.

My research explores the conflicts between the increasingly globalized markets for goods, capital and labor; and tax and transfer systems that remain national. My first line of research demonstrates that differences in domestic taxes and labor market regulations shape trade, capital, and migration flows across countries, such that international integration can hinder a country’s ability to unilaterally maintain a high level of redistribution. My second strand of research shows that policy-induced trade, capital and migration flows themselves have significant redistributive implications, both within and across countries.
