Hunt for Real Numbers

In this activity, you will need the following materials:

a. worksheets with a list of subsets of real numbers.

b. paper

c. pen or pencil

1. The list of subsets of real numbers: Natural Numbers, Whole Numbers, Integers, Rational Numbers and Irrational Numbers.

2. Explore the school to find objects or situations corresponding to the real numbers on your worksheets. For example, you might count the number of steps in a stair or you might find a number which indicates warning of the highest recorded flood in your school.

3. Record where you found each real number and take note of the context (For example, a classroom, hallway, sports field).

4. Using the google form below, write a reflection on how this activity helped you appreciate real-life application of the lesson on lesson on subsets of real numbers.
