The City of Thompson, "Hub of the North" is the regional trade and service centre of Northern Manitoba. The city is located 830 kilometers north of the international border, and 739 kilometers north of the provincial capital of Winnipeg. The city is a dynamic northern community of 13,256 residents and serves as a trade centre for an additional 36,000 - 65,000 Manitobans. Thompson is unique in that it is set in the ruggedly beautiful Canadian shield, amongst numerous pristine lakes, in the heart of the Boreal Forest.
The newly built Zubaidah Tallab Masjid (Mosque) is a first ever in northern Manitoba, Canada.Upon entering Thompson from Highway 6, you will come to the first light. Pass that light (INCO) and go on to the second light. (To the right you will see the Museum.) Take a left at the light, that will be Thompson Drive. Go straight till the next light. Pass that and keep going straight for about 500 meteres. The Masjid is to the right side next to the Arts Council (former Mennonite Church). It is across the street from Giant Tiger.
