So the comics are showing as downloaded, but once I try to read while unconnected to 3G or wifi it says it can't read and to try later or whatever. Not sure if anyone has a fix or if I'm being stupid and not on the right setting (if my tablet thinks I'm connected and is trying to use internet of some sort).

Yes! To download digital comics to your mobile device using the Marvel Unlimited app, add the comic to your library, then turn the "Read Offline" switch to "on." You may download up to twelve comics at a time for offline viewing.

With the Marvel Unlimited mobile app, you can select up to twelve issues to read offline. These issues will be temporarily downloaded to your mobile device so that you can read them without the need for a wi-fi or cellular connection.

In order to read a comic while your mobile device is offline, add that comic to your library by tapping the comic, then tapping the "Add to Library" button. Once a comic is added to your library, you will see an option to "Read offline?" Simply turn the switch to "on," and that comic will be downloaded to your device. You will be able to see all your comics for offline reading in the "My Library" section on your mobile app.

You can contact us using the "Contact Us" button located in the Account section of the app and specify which titles you would like to see added to the collection. Please note that we cannot guarantee when or if any request will be granted. However, we are constantly updating the site and there will be a variety of classic and new titles added every week. You can find the digital comics release calendar in the Comics section of the Marvel website.

In order to add comics to your "My Library" section, you must be signed in to your Marvel account on the website or the Marvel Unlimited app. If you don't have a Marvel account, you can register for one by tapping "Sign In," then tapping "Create An Account" in the app, or going to "Register" on the Marvel website.

On the web, you can add comics to "My Library" by browsing the comic section. Once you find a comic you'd like to read, go to the comic page and look for the "Add to Library" link in the Marvel Unlimited section.

If you are still experiencing difficulties, please contact us using the "Contact Us" button located in the Account section of the app and specify which comics and browsers you are having trouble with.

We've selected some of our favorite titles to include in the Marvel Unlimited collection. We've included a broad range of characters and fan favorite series and we're adding new comics every week. There are over 30,000 issues available to read, with new titles added weekly!

Free trial available for only new subscribers. Unless otherwise stated at the time of purchase, all Marvel Unlimited subscriptions automatically renew as follows: at the conclusion of your free trial term and on a subsequent recurring basis (monthly, annual, or other term as applicable for your selected subscription offer), Marvel will automatically renew your subscription by charging your payment method on file at the renewal rate then in effect unless and until you cancel. If you like Comic Book Herald, and are able to donate, any small contribution will help keep CBH alive and full of new comics guides and content. Donate here! Or, support CBH on Patreon for exclusive rewards! Thank you for reading!

Also even more terrible than downloading is deleting issues. It seems to take minutes for MU to register that you deleted something. Quickly delete 5 issues? 2 minutes later 4 of them will magically appear again in the offline list and start redownloading. If you tried to add new issues already in the meantime, prepare for an error message storm from hell.

So yeah even the offline mode on the iOS version is all kinds of broken. However once you somehow get the issues loaded up, then at least the reading works flawlessly (minus the next issue feature). No members only screen for me so far.

In general, I try to keep a positive outlook on Marvel Unlimited. The subscription library has come a long way since I fell head over heels for it in in 2010, and at the end of the day, the fact that reading this many comics at this price point is even an option is great. It could always be worse. It could be DC Unlimited.

What do you think? Is Marvel Unlimited offline reading letting you down? Having no problems at all? Discovered the latest and greatest hacks to work around these issues? Do what feels right to you in the comments.

For me the only time so far I had a problem with it was after my phone and tablet upgraded to Marshmallow (Android). After that I had to re-download the offline comics. Since then, no problems. I hope it continues this way, because most of the time it is my only option (think flying, airplane mode ;))

But following the high-profile announcements of 2006, the flow of information about Marvel Universe Online was shut off in 2007. Unconfirmed reports swirled that the project had been quietly canceled, even though official inquiries were greeted by Microsoft's standard refrain, "Microsoft does not comment on rumors or speculation." However, the wall of silence broke at last week's D.I.C.E. Summit, when Microsoft Game Studios head Shane Kim told GameSpot that Marvel Universe Online is permanently offline.

What did the team keep in mind in translating what has traditionally been a print experience into something that would live online and as an app?

KV: We kept in mind the traditional experience of reading a comic while exploring ways to innovate and enhance the experience in the digital medium. Further iterations of the digital comic-reading experience included our patented Marvel smart panel technology, which allow users to read panel-by-panel with editorial-focused transitions. Later iterations included brand-new comic formats for online reading, such as our digital-only Infinite Comics, and the added ability to read comics offline.

Can you talk about where Marvel Unlimited might go next?

KV: Stay tuned True Believers! We have a lot of new features currently in development that will wow fans and keep Marvel Unlimited at the top of its class in digital comics reading experiences.

Marvel is rolling out a brand new version of its Marvel Unlimited comics subscription app. Among the updates are exclusive Infinity Comics, which are high-res vertical comics designed for phones and tablets. At the outset, 27 Infinity Comics are available, and you should have access to more than 100 by the end of the year. The comics include series such as X-Men Unlimited, Captain America, Black Widow, Deadpool, Shang-Chi and Venom/Carnage.

The app, which was redesigned from the ground up with the help of Disney Media & Entertainment Distribution, now offers unlimited downloads for offline reading and a way to share content elsewhere. Marvel's promising a streamlined design, more stability, "best-in-class speed and search tools" and personalized reading guides based on your preferences. Marvel Insider members will receive rewards for using the app too.

This is a welcome update for an app that was perhaps overdue for a refresh. So, you've been watching Marvel's What If...? series on Disney+ (or anything else from the Marvel Cinematic Universe) and are curious about checking out the comics as well, it seems as good a time as any to try Marvel Unlimited.

I updated the collection including all (the edit of Black Cat too) but the offlines characters, until I decide what to do with that. Speaking of that, I remember having at some point the Red Skull from that video, and I even asked for the character there a couple of years ago lmao but the guy never answered me. Now, about the other Red Skull from the screenshot, I don't really know but since I never seen other than that same screenshot maybe he was some private or unreleased WIP?

Forgot to mention something about Yua CaVan's Spider-Man in my other post. Even though it won't be added to this collection until that you have decided what to do to make room for some offline chars somewhere in the near future, it was an old DOS character with the filename "spider" and it was made back when MUGEN was still new. But somewhere in the early 2000s or so, the DL link to that character and the author's site have went offline entirely. Several years later, on Electrocaid's site, he even mentioned this character in his list of missing MUGEN related data, which can be found here:

For those of you who don't know yet, BlackJack later updated this version of the character with much cleaner coding, some more moves, more palettes, two different endings, as well as having Zangief as a striker. It is currently offline at the moment. This one right here is the original, unedited version, as far as I know. ff782bc1db
