This course was offered as a SOUL course at Johns Hopkins University. SOUL (Special Opportunities for Undergraduate Learning) courses are small (this class had five students), 1-credit hour courses graded on a Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory (S/U-pass/fail) basis and are available to all undergraduate students. They are designed for students from any discipline, but often focus on skills that will be valuable to future study in the field. Successful courses are selected by the Alexander Grass Humanities Institute from a large field of candidates.
