Luckily my bachelor's curriculum in University of Tartu contained a special intensive course that prepared several teams for Robotex by providing necessary components and know-how on building an autonomous soccer robot.
The aim of the robot is to gather orange golf balls from the field and kick them into blue or yellow gate. The robot has onboard camera and computer that does video processing, controls movement and runs the game algorithm.
The robot was built in cooperation with Janek Zavatski, Raido Uudel and Rein Kruberg. I was responsible for electronics. I did all the soldering, wiring, a bit of hardware related programming and some mechanical work.
