Some examples of my work as Campaign and Communication coordinator of Young WILPF Network,
Communication Intern at ICBL-CMC and at the Flemish Peace Institute and as blog author of Il Disarmante Jozef
Statement by the Disarmament Working Group of WILPF for 2026 Review Conference of the Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons
I co-coordinated the drafting of the text and the preparation of the communication materials (social media posts). To help spread the word, the text was translated into Spanish, French, Portuguese, Italian and German. The text was distributed manually by WILPF members during the meeting at the UN Headquarters in New York, and online by all WILPF sections and through our communication channels.
To mark Youth Day 2025, I coordinated the drafting of the declaration for the Young WILPF Network’s declaration. The result is a powerful call from young people, reminding us that peace is not passive, but a movement. A movement just like the one we have built over the years as the Young WILPF Network.
The text then inspired a video created by activists from around the world in their native languages, inviting other young people to join us in building a future of feminist peace.
During my time with ICBL-CMC, I worked as a communications assistant. My responsibilities ranged from assisting with the organisation of social media campaigns (from conception, planning and implementation through to publication); analysing monthly social media analytics; designing images, carousels, Reels and videos for social media using Canva, Audacity and Illustrator; monitoring the performance of social media posts; interacting with the online community; planning social media campaigns and managing the weekly schedule; editing documents and fact sheets using InDesign; planning the production of the ‘Silent Killers’ podcast; updating the Monitor section on the website; and writing survivors’ stories for the website.
During my five years with WILPF, I first coordinated communications for the Young WILPF Network, then membership, and finally became Global Convenor. Among the many projects I have worked on with WILPF, the following are available to view: annual advocacy calendar for 2025, flyer for events, the network's page on WILPF website, Youth Day 2024 campaign and international days posts.
The most rewarding project was the Youth Corner, a blog created to give young people a voice and allow them to tell their stories, share their ideas and experiences, and build a community of activists together.
Finally, to mark WILPF’s 107th anniversary, I produced a video to talk about the youth network and our activities.
Whilst attending the Hiroshima-ICAN Academy in 2021, I started a blog in Italian to raise awareness of nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation among young Italians. Recognising that most of the material available in Italian on these topics was difficult to understand, my aim was to explain what humanitarian nuclear disarmament is in an accessible way. This led to the creation of a blog and an Instagram profile. Both are now inactive.
Of particular significance was the project with the Hibakusha, which enabled me to translate into Italian the testimonies of some survivors of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
