If you want a dedicated device for children to swim with and listen to music without water damage, choose MARLALL Soft Liquid Silicone; if you need a comfortable, blackout sleep mask with built-in audio for a child who is a side sleeper, choose MUSICOZY Sleep Mask Headphones.
• MARLALL Soft Liquid Silicone: The ultimate choice for underwater sports due to its IPX8 waterproof rating and bone conduction design that keeps ears open, though it lacks Bluetooth connectivity when submerged and requires MP3 file transfer.
• MUSICOZY Sleep Mask Headphones: The clear winner for nighttime rest featuring 100% light blocking, 3D eye cups for zero pressure on sensitive eyes, and long battery life, but it is not designed for water immersion or active swimming.
• Who picks which: Choose MARLALL for active kids who love pools and water play; choose MUSICOZY for children who struggle with light sensitivity or ear pain when wearing traditional headphones to bed.
The MARLALL Soft Liquid Silicone model is engineered for one specific, high-intensity environment: water. If your child spends significant time in the pool, the ocean, or engaging in water sports like snorkeling, this is the only option that truly fits the bill. The headline feature here is the IPX8 waterproof rating, which allows the device to withstand full submersion. This isn't just splash resistance; it is built to handle the pressure of diving and the constant immersion of swimming laps. For parents looking for low latency over ear headphones for children during aquatic activities, this unit delivers because it bypasses the typical failure points of standard electronics in water.
What makes this particularly suitable for younger users is the material composition. The "Soft Liquid Silicone" mentioned in the title is not just a marketing term; it describes a skin-friendly, ultra-soft overmold that wraps around the ear hooks. In a wet environment, comfort is often secondary to security, yet this design ensures the headphones stay put without slipping or shifting during vigorous movement. The ergonomic ear-hook design distributes pressure evenly, meaning a child can wear them for extended periods without the irritation that often comes from hard plastic clips or tight straps. The weight is negligible at roughly 22.68 grams, ensuring the device doesn't drag down on a small head or neck during play.

However, there are critical limitations to understand before buying. This device operates in two distinct modes: an underwater MP3 mode and a dry Bluetooth mode. When submerged, Bluetooth does not function; the user must rely entirely on the built-in 32G MP3 player. This means parents must manually transfer music files via a computer using the magnetic charging cable. There is no direct streaming from a phone app while the child is in the water. If your child needs to take calls immediately after getting out of the pool without drying time, this could be a friction point. It is also important to note that this is designed for adults according to the age range description on the sheet, so fitment for very young children may vary, though the lightweight nature suggests potential adaptability.
This product is ideal for families who prioritize safety and environmental awareness. The open-ear design means the child remains fully aware of their surroundings—whether that is hearing a lifeguard shout or noticing waves crashing nearby—which significantly enhances safety during outdoor water activities. It is not a general-purpose headphone for running or walking in the rain; it is a specialized tool for the water. If you are searching for the best hi res headphones for children in a dry setting, this might be overkill and impractical due to the file transfer requirement. But for the pool? It is unmatched.
In stark contrast to the rugged, water-focused MARLALL, the MUSICOZY Sleep Mask Headphones are designed for total tranquility and darkness. This is the solution for children who cannot sleep with any light leaking in or who find traditional over-ear headphones uncomfortable when lying on their sides. The core value proposition here is the 3D concave eye cup design. Traditional masks press directly against the eyelids, causing friction with eyelashes and creating pressure points that can lead to headaches or wakefulness. The MUSICOZY design creates a hollow space over the eyes, ensuring zero pressure. This is a game-changer for side sleepers, as they can bury their face into a pillow without crushing the headphones or their own eyes.
The material choice further cements its role as a bedtime companion. Constructed from breathable bamboo cotton fabric, the mask offers a soft, skin-friendly feel that contours gently to the face. Unlike synthetic materials that might cause sweating or irritation during a long night's sleep, bamboo cotton promotes airflow and comfort. The adjustable strap with silent velcro allows for a customized fit across different head sizes, ensuring the mask stays in place without being too tight. For parents dealing with children who are sensitive to noise or light, the dedicated light-blocking layer on the nose wings blocks out 100% of external light. This creates a personal darkness sanctuary that signals the brain it is time to rest, potentially helping with sleep onset for picky sleepers.
Audio quality is handled through advanced acoustic drivers paired with the latest Bluetooth 5.4 chip. This connectivity ensures seamless pairing with tablets or phones for bedtime stories, white noise, or calming music. The Hi-Fi sound profile is designed for immersive listening without the need for volume cranking up, which protects hearing. The built-in microphone adds functionality for free-hand calling or singing along, making it versatile for travel or home use. A standout feature for parents is the battery life; the unit offers up to 14+ hours of playtime after just a 2-hour charge. This eliminates the anxiety of a dead battery in the middle of the night or during a long family trip. You do not need to worry about frequent charging cycles.
This product is strictly for rest and relaxation. It is not waterproof, and attempting to use it near water or in humid environments would likely damage the electronics and the fabric. It is not designed for active use like running or swimming. The weight of the package is listed at 8 ounces, which includes the mask and packaging, suggesting the mask itself is substantial enough to provide structure but light enough for all-night wear. If you are looking for the best bluetooth earbuds for children who have trouble sleeping, this integrated mask approach removes the complexity of separate earbuds that fall out or get lost. It is a dedicated sleep aid first and a music player second.

After analyzing the specs and intended use cases, I recommend the MUSICOZY Sleep Mask Headphones for most families, especially those focused on improving a child's sleep hygiene. The combination of total light blocking, zero-pressure eye cups, and the breathability of bamboo cotton addresses common sleep barriers that simple earbuds cannot fix. While the MARLALL is a marvel of engineering for swimmers, its utility is extremely niche. Unless your child is an avid swimmer who needs to listen to music underwater, the MARLALL's requirement for manual file transfers and lack of Bluetooth underwater limits its daily value. The MUSICOZY solves the problem of "I can't sleep with lights on" or "Headphones hurt my ears," which are universal struggles for children. I would buy the MUSICOZY to help my child drift off faster and stay asleep longer.

Yes, because the MARLALL does not support Bluetooth connectivity underwater, you must manually copy music from a computer to the device's internal 32G storage before use.
The MUSICOZY Sleep Mask Headphones offer superior battery life with up to 14+ hours of playtime on a single charge, compared to the MARLALL's 7 hours, making it more reliable for overnight travel without recharging.
