MarkVault is a Chrome extension that allows users to highlight and save text from webpages for personal research and reference purposes.
Data Collection. MarkVault collects only the text passages that the user manually selects and chooses to save. This includes the selected text, the URL of the page where the highlight was made, the page title, the color category assigned by the user, and any personal annotation the user adds to a highlight. No other data is collected.
Data Storage. All data collected by MarkVault is stored exclusively in Chrome's local storage on the user's own device using the chrome.storage.local API. Data never leaves the user's device.
Data Transmission. MarkVault does not transmit any user data to any external server, third-party service, or remote endpoint. No internet connection is made by the extension for any purpose.
Data Sharing. MarkVault does not sell, share, transfer, or disclose user data to any third party under any circumstances.
Analytics and Tracking. MarkVault contains no analytics, telemetry, tracking pixels, or any form of usage monitoring.
User Control. Users retain full control over their data at all times. Highlights can be deleted individually or cleared entirely through the extension interface. Uninstalling the extension removes all associated local storage data.
