Undertook various research programmes in Geoinformatics and formed the OntoGeo group, conducting Ontological Research in GIScience
Co-authored the book “Theories of Geographic Concepts –Ontological Approaches to Semantic Integration” published by CRC Press T&F, two electronic open books in GIS, and over 160 publications in scientific journals and conference proceedings with over 1500 citations.
