Classes in Northfield will be delivered via remote learning in the first academic term—and, if conditions permit, blended learning in the second term and regular onsite classes in the third and last academic term.
Remote or distance learning refers to a learning process where student and teacher are separated by physical distance, i.e., students accomplish academic or learning activities at home, under the remote guidance or supervision of a teacher.
Blended learning refers to different combinations of remote learning and onsite classes, with the following common key elements:
Some learning activities take place online or remotely (at home)
Some learning activities take place in school (with the physical presence of a teacher)
Both activities combine into an integrated learning experience.
Based on the premise that the current health situation improves in the last few months of 2020 and in the first three months of 2021, we will make a careful, deliberate transition to regular classes with the following timetable:
It is possible that environmental conditions may compel the school to observe full remote learning for the entire school year. In such a case, the school is ready to implement this option, once the long-term health situation for NCR and its environs have been sufficiently clarified.
The school is also ready to accommodate families who wish to continue remote learning for the rest of the school year, even if blended learning or regular onsite classes are already permissible.
