I am a professional communicator and former journalist with excellent research, writing, and editing skills, as well as extensive digital publishing experience and an ability to quickly produce results under tight deadlines and tight budgets. I am known for building positive relationships with internal and external partners, whether in a newsroom, a nonprofit, or a higher education setting. I am proficient with a wide variety of tools and platforms, including WordPress, Ingeniux, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Salesforce/Pardot, Constant Contact, MyEmma, SiteImprove, and Asana. At Benjamin Franklin Cummings Institute of Technology, I oversaw production of the college's annual Impact Report in partnership with the President's Office. This included reporting, writing, and editing all content and coordinating production with an outside graphic designer. The report was used by the administration and development team to garner support from public officials and potential donors by supplying evidence of the college's impact in the equity in education and social justice arenas.
I created a blog for the college's Admissions office and wrote and reported most of the posts. These blog posts were designed to be rich with SEO keywords related to new majors or existing programs to which the college wanted to drive enrollment:
I interviewed students and alumni to gather stories of ways the college has set them up for success or improved their career options. Here are a few examples:
Monique Nolberto: Monique Nolberto says her best moment at Benjamin Franklin Cummings Institute of Technology was the day she was accepted into the Construction Management program. Suddenly, a world of possibilities opened up for the single mom who is originally from Belize.
Benjamin Guerra-Murga: Currently in the second year of a four-year apprenticeship with the Carpenters Union, Benjamin Guerra-Murga hopes to eventually become a leader in the construction industry.
Cynthia Cortez Kamishlian: At first, Cynthia Cortez Kamishlian just wanted to gain an edge for her hobby racing cars on the Lemons car racing circuit. Lemons—a pun based on the prestigious Le Mans racing series—is an endurance car racing series for $500 cars.
Peter Haubrich: Peter Haubrich’s job is to set up and maintain the technology systems that hospitals and other healthcare providers rely on to securely access and share patient data.
As part of the marketing team at Wheelock College, I created a wide variety of print and digital content that told engaging stories and reinforced the college's distinctive brand. Wheelock's award-winning brand centered on the question posed in the above website banner: "Are you tough enough to inspire a world of good?"
This graduate program was designed to give social workers and nonprofit professionals the management skills needed to take on leadership roles and boost their impact. Here are some of the materials I created to promote the program:
I wrote and designed this flier featuring testimonials from program graduates.
I wrote this news item about the program's impact in Boston's Mattapan neighborhood.
I wrote this blog post, which drove visitors to a video we produced about the program.
Wheelock's unique international service learning program combined classroom learning with immersive, two-week international service projects. The program resonated with our socially active current and prospective students. Here are some materials I created to showcase the program:
I wrote the text, supplied photos, and worked with an outside designer to create this graphic for the inside cover of Wheelock's Commencement program.
I wrote these Admissions emails to accepted students and their parents, which showcased one student's service learning experience.
I worked with our staff videographer to cast and publish several service learning-focused videos, like this one.
I edited this blog post submitted by students about their service in Belfast, then promoted it through this Facebook post and other channels.
Here are some examples of Wheelock materials I created using Adobe InDesign/Photoshop:
