Prof. Parolini is Full Professor in Experimental Biology at the Faculty of Medicine and surgery, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Rome, where she coordinates the Degree in Biotechnology in Personalized Medicine and the PhD Program in Experimental and Translational Medicine. She began her research experience abroad at renowned international institutions, including St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in USA and the University of Vienna focusing her work on gene regulation in the immune system and hematopoietic stem cells. In 2002, she returned to Italy to lead the Centro di Ricerca Eugenia Menni (CREM) in Brescia, where she pioneered research on placental stem cells' applications in regenerative medicine.
Professor Parolini's research output includes more than 200 publications in scientific journals, two patents, and 12 book chapters. Her academic engagement is demonstrated through more than 140 international lectures focusing on placental stem cells in regenerative medicine. Professor Parolini is an active member of multiple scientific societies and served as President of the International Placenta Stem Cell Society (IPLASS) in 2009 and 2014.
