Effective date: September 15, 2026
Margin Guard performs Amazon profitability calculations locally in the user's browser.
When the user clicks “Use current price” while viewing an Amazon product page, Margin Guard temporarily reads the displayed product title and price from the active tab. This information is used only to populate the calculator. It is not transmitted to the publisher or any external server.
Calculator inputs and saved defaults are stored locally using Chrome storage. CSV exports are generated locally on the user's device.
activeTab provides temporary access to the current Amazon page after the user invokes the extension.
scripting reads the visible product title and displayed price after explicit user action.
storage saves calculator defaults locally in Chrome.
Margin Guard does not collect browsing history, personal information, authentication information, payment information or calculator inputs. It does not sell or share user information.
Locally saved defaults remain in Chrome until the user clears the extension's data or uninstalls the extension.
Material changes to this policy will be reflected in an updated effective date before the relevant extension update is published.
