I am a Saginaw, Michigan native and recently graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor’s in Biopsychology, Cognition and Neuroscience and a minor in Community Action and Social Change. Throughout my undergraduate career, I was very active in three research labs, several community engagement internships, and lead student organizations. My lab experiences focused on well-being, community violence exposure, puberty, perceptions of gender/race, and representation in the media. My internships related to art therapy, incarcerated populations, community centers, literacy development, and college-readiness preparation for youth. My organizational experiences related to mentoring college students and being the President of the National Council of Negro Women. All of these labs, programs, and organizations centered around Black and Latinx experiences. I am currently a first-year Developmental Psychology doctoral student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Department of Psychology and Neuroscience. My current research interest focuses on low-income, minority resiliency as it relates to their community experiences, such as community-based program participation and community violence exposure. I hope that my research and work interest intersect with different disciplines, such as psychology, social work, public health, urban planning, and public policy.
Below is a fraction of my experience. Feel free to contact me or check out my CV for more information.
