I use seismology to study volcanoes, induced earthquakes, and the deep Earth. I am currently focused on understanding the magnitude of small stress perturbations that can induce earthquakes with a focus on fluid-injection settings in the central United States. My research has involved building earthquake catalogs using both machine-learning and traditional approaches, discriminating between types of seismic signals, and discovering the thermal and compositional variability of Earth's mantle transition zone. I have participated in and organized geophysics fieldwork in a variety of environments, from backcountry terrain to road-accessible settings.
