I was born in Santa Tecla, El Salvador. I spent almost 6 years living there until the socio-economic and violent crime conditions forced my family to leave. Seeking refuge in the United States, I was an undocumented immigrant until 2012, when I was granted Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). My childhood experiences in poverty and as a marginalized minority have strongly shaped my pursuit of education.

In 2018, I was the student speaker for the Feliciano School of Business at Montclair State University. After 17 years of being in the United States, I had the opportunity to share my story publicly for the first time as an undocumented to DACAmented scholar.
