Marc Willinger is a professor of economics at the University of Montpellier (UM) and a member of the Center for Environmental Economics of Montpellier (CEE-M). His primary research interests lie in experimental and behavioral economics. He primarily conducts laboratory and field experiments to study risk-taking behavior and social preferences, particularly in the contexts of social dilemmas and asymmetric information. His recent research explores local adaptation to environmental risk and dynamic resource extraction games, with a particular focus on groundwater management. He is also investigating trading behavior in experimental asset markets—especially with regard to socially responsible investments—and the cognitive processes underlying depth of reasoning.
