I am a Ph.D. Student at Ontario Tech University where I am working with Dr. Salma Karray. Since I joined the Modelling and Computational Science program, I have been attending to different grad level courses, TAing, and working on my thesis.
In my first year as a Ph.D. student, Dr. Karray and I were award with an NSERC engagement grant, where we explored, analyzed different sources of data to propose different credit risk models to one of the biggest commercial banks in Canada. As a result, individual and hybrid machine learning models to assess credit risk at Scotiabank were proposed to the industry and an article has been in a review process since April/2020.
My research interests include the applications of Artificial Intelligence to solve Business problems in general, but specifically, to problems in finance, marketing, and management.
Previously, I completed my Masters's degree in Industrial Eng. at the University of Sao Paulo (Brasil). I also have the opportunity to work in one of the biggest banks in Brasil (Banco Bradesco, +6 years) as a pricing/modeling analyst and another Financial Group in Canada (Dollar Financial Group - Vancouver).
