Hi, thank you for visiting my website!

I am postdoctoral scholar at the Stone Center on Socio-Economic Inequality, The Graduate Center, City University of New York (CUNY). I hold a PhD from the Paris School of Economics.

I have recently developed the concept of income composition inequality (ICI), as well as a summary statistic for its measurement. A study of the evolution of income composition inequality in Italy can be found here. Two more studies on the determinants of income composition inequality (with Bilyana Petrova) and on its theoretical and empirical relationship with income inequality (with Branko Milanovic) are forthcoming (WPs out in August/September). In this latter work, a novel expression for the Gini coefficient is also introduced.

My current research does also focus on the global distribution of capital and labor incomes, the determinants of wealth accumulation, as well as the interplay between economic inequality and climate change.

I am interested in the philosophical, political and mathematical aspects of economic inequality. I do see economics as a mean, not an end, to achieve green and inclusive prosperity. And I regard economists as social scientists, rather than scientists. I do also like writing in Italian. You can find some of my compositions in the section In Italian (more to come).
