All markings unless otherwise stated will be based around these colors:
Primary: This is the cats basecoat color, the fur that everything else sits on top of should be this coloring! The cat should always clearly show the primary color somewhere on the cats design.
Secondary: This is the second color that shows up on the cat, this color is ONLY used to effect markings, either displaying across all markings or only a few. This coloring should clearly effect the marks and NOT the basecoat.
Primary Color:
This is the cats basecoat color, this example is displaying it with no markings present to show what's meant by "basecoat"
Primary Color + Markings:
This example shows markings but still only displays the primary color, keeping the secondary color hidden.
-Tips, lighter than basecoat coloring
-Speckle, darker than basecoat coloring
-Pied, white coloring
Primary Color & Secondary Color + Markings:
This example shows both primary and secondary colors being displayed, here the secondary color is only effecting a singular mark.
-Tips, fully effected by secondary
-Speckle, darker than basecoat coloring
-Pied, white coloring
Primary Color & Secondary Color + Markings:
This example shows both primary and secondary colors being displayed, here the secondary color is effecting all markings in different ways:
-Tips, fully effected by secondary
-Speckle, partially effected by secondary
-Pied, effected by secondary with gradient

All markings unless otherwise stated follow these general color rules. Keep in mind we are not overly strict on marking/color rules- as long as it looks close to the proper colors you will be fine, slight color or hue shifts are okay as long as it's not drastically different. Markings can also have a gradient across the marking EX: Tabby covering entire cat but near the head tabby is lighter than basecoat, and near the tail it is darker than basecoat.
Lighter than the basecoat, hue and saturation should remain similar to the specific base color you've chosen for your cat! Does NOT have to be a color on the slider.
Darker than the basecoat, hue and saturation should remain similar to the specific base color you've chosen for your cat! Does NOT have to be a color on the slider.
Same basecoat color, but chosen from a different area on the palette. Unlike colors that are made to be darker / lighter than the chosen basecoat color for your cat, choosing from a different area on the slider allows for different hues / saturations as long as it's a swatch from the same pallet.
White, does not have to be pure white as long as it resembles white against the basecoat you've chosen and is not a drastically different color it will be acceptable- has to be similar to basecoat color if tinted. No blue hued whites over an orange cat.
Black, should never be pure black, pure black isn't allowed as you cant see lines over it. As long as it resembles black against the basecoat you've chosen and is not a drastically different color it will be acceptable- has to be similar to basecoat color if tinted .No blue hued blacks over an orange cat.
When making a color lighter/darker try to avoid changing the hue / color from the chosen basecoat, otherwise it resembles different pallets.
When making a color lighter/darker try to avoid making the chosen color more saturated / neon in appearance with the rest of the design.
All markings unless otherwise stated follow these general texture rules. Keep in mind we are not overly strict on these rules- as long as it looks close to the proper shape for a marking and it is still recognizable it will be okay! These examples also have heavily textured examples, if you choose to do a little bit of fur texture it doesn't have to cover the entire marking or cat and can just be a few sparse tufts. You can also mix and match the textures/edges you'd like to do on a design- a mark can be soft edged with a fur texture and fade into the basecoat all on a singular mark.
Faded into basecoat, this creates a smooth erased fade into basecolor
Fur texture, adds little tufts of fur on the edges on the marking
Slight blur effect added to marking, shouldn't be fully blurred out to where you cannot tell the shape of the marking
Soft edge creates a soft watercolor like edge to the marking, shouldn't be fully blurred out to where you cannot tell the shape of the marking
Textured insides of a marking, shouldn't be so drastic to where you cannot tell the shape of the marking
Textured outline of a marking, shouldn't be so drastic to where you cannot tell the shape of the marking
