Quick "How To"
Decide the Traits you'd like to use on your design then delete all other folders so you're only left with what you're using for your design.
Merge the "color" layers for each trait you've decided to use: Body, Ears, Tail. And place below the "line" layers. Make sure to Alpha Lock.
Edit the lines where there's any overlap and erase any "wonky" lines ( ear fluff obscuring cheek fur, tail lines crossing into the body)
After Editing merge all the "line" layers and ensure they're above the "color" layer.
HAVE FUN DESIGNING !
Feel free to Dm or Ping either jay or nich if you need any help!
Additional Info
While there is short and long fur versions for each trait, you are not required to use them with a specific body and instead can match however you'd like.
EX: Tiny Shortfur Ears - Longfur Body - Bob Tail.
Also with the "freespace" areas please use a text tool if you are able, or write as neatly as you can! This is to ensure everyone can read the information you've shared quickly and easily with little to no chance of mistakes!
Editing Rules
You're free to edit the base to suit your cat better but please keep in mind it should still resemble the base.
Below has specific examples and guides for most cases, if you're unsure feel free to share and ask!
WHAT IS OKAY AS EDITS:
-making small cuts / clips/ scars over the traits that's already there!
-using premade ears and mixing them/resizing them/ rotating or moving them! (or tails, just no double tailed cats!! )
-adding "extensions" to what's already there and making any tail or ear have longer fur, or be longer/larger in general! or drawing your own versions of cheek/neck/leg/belly/back fur!
-making your OWN ears/tails, minor face expressions (still showing mouth, teeth, and eye color!) adding more fur everywhere!
these are all editing the base but it's still CLEARLY the same base cat!
WHAT'S NOT OKAY AS EDITS:
-hiding "key" features with NO reference on the import (eyes, mouth, teeth, and paw colors)
-completely reposing features (moving the head around, redrawing legs)
-messing with proportions ,,, greatly exaggerating things like moving the entire body to make long lanky legs or completely moving the back and head to make them long and short, or even making a large head or giant paws,,,,
edits like these quickly obscure the base and hide key elements people use while drawing (eyes, mouth colors,, paws,,, ect. or make the imports seem disconnected and too far from the base to resemble the uniform bases for everyones cat! we only use bases to have a very very easy guide for people to reference while writing/drawing!!
