Manuel Hensmans
Manuel Hensmans is a Lecturer (chargé de cours) at the Université Libre de Bruxelles. His research centres on the strategic, digital and moral transformation of organizations and societies.
Manuel completed his PhD at Erasmus University, Rotterdam School of Management. He worked as an associate professor at Toulouse Business School, and as a research fellow at the University of Manchester, Lancaster Management School, Strathclyde Business School and London Business School.
Manuel’s forthcoming book, Corporations as Grand Strategists (Palgrave Macmillan), demonstrates how corporations cultivate forms of smart power that complement and, at times, surpass those of the state, aligning corporate strategies with broader geopolitical and grand strategic objectives. Prior to this, he published the well-received book Strategic Transformation.
Manuel teaches courses in Strategy. He launched a MOOC on Innovation Strategy on FutureLearn. Administratively, he was the Coordinator of a Grande Ecole Strategy module, Vice-Dean of Education, and acting Director of an MSc degree in Management Science.
