My scientific interests encompass the formation and evolution of galaxies across cosmic time, exploring the complex processes that govern the assembly of galaxies in the early universe, with a particular focus on the interstellar medium and the environment of high-redshift galaxies. My expertise is focused on radio and submillimeter observations, utilizing advanced facilities such as the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA), the Very Large Array (VLA) and the Australia Telescope Compact Array (ATCA). However, in the last few years, I have increasingly started to use and led successful programs with optical to infrared facilities, including the cutting-edge James Webb Space Telescope (JWST), and the MUSE instrument on the Very Large Telescope (VLT). 

I am the principal investigator of the recently awarded JWST GO3 program ORCHIDS (43 hrs) and co-principal investigator of a JWST GO2 program to study the complex interaction between star-forming galaxies at the center of a protocluster at z=4.3 (PI: J. Gonzalez-Lopez). I am also co-leading 4 ALMA large programs, including the ALMA Spectroscopic Survey in the Hubble UDF (ASPECS in Cycle-4; www.aspecs.info), CRISTAL: A survey of gas, dust and star in galaxies when the universe was ~1 Gyr old (Cycle 8 www.alma-cristal.info; PI: R. Herrera-Camus, co-PI: M. Aravena), the COSMOS High-z ALMA-MIRI Population Survey (CHAMPS in Cycle-10: PI: A. Faisst, co-PI: M. Aravena) and the Cosmic Noon Disks with Observed Rotation (CONDOR in Cycle-11; PI: F. Rizzo, co-PI: M. Aravena).
