Hi! I'm Manimrit, a qualified Dermal Clinician and student Registered Nurse
Growing up in culturally diverse communities has shaped my perspective and deepened my commitment to inclusive, patient-centred care. These experiences have especially informed my passion for working with individuals with skin of colour, and for delivering tailored, evidence-based solutions to patients and addressing everyone's unique needs.
My academic journey began in the sciences, with an Associate Degree in General Science and a pathway into an Honours Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology. While working in a skin and laser clinic during this time, I discovered my passion for skin health and the science behind dermal therapies. Encouraged by my mentors, I transitioned to the Bachelor of Dermal Science program at Victoria University (VU), a challenging yet rewarding program that allowed me to translate theoretical knowledge into real-world clinical practice.
Through my clinical work at the VU Dermal Clinic, I gained hands-on experience with a wide array of advanced skin technologies and treatment modalities, further refining my skils in laser therapies, clinical skin assessments, skincare planning, and advanced dermal procedures. These experiences strengthened my desire to expand my capabilities further, both clinically and holistically.
I believe excellence in care is an evolving journey that demands curiosity, adaptability, and a commitment to lifelong learning. Currently, I am pursuing a Master of Nursing Science at the University of Melbourne. Through my Registered Nurse qualification, I hope to broaden my scope of practice and establish a comprehensive foundation in delivering safe, evidence-based clinical and medical care. My ultimate goal is to integrate my dermal expertise with nursing knowledge, and transition towards a nursing specialty such as plastic surgery, dermatology or wound care. I am excited about the opportunity to bridge dermal science, nursing and medical dermatology, with a strong emphasis on patient advocacy, education, and safe, high-quality care.
Thank you for taking the time to explore my portfolio. I'm excited to share my learnings, growth, clinical experiences, and insights.
