I've seen this issue before and it was traced to the user's antivirus interfering with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware while our program was being installed. As I recall, the antivirus being used was AVG. It caused our installer to create an incorrect path ("MALWAREBYTES ANTI-MALWARE" instead of "Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware") for one of our runtime files, ssubtmr6.dll.

As long as the program is working, you should be fine, but if you are concerned about the folder you may try uninstalling our program, deleting that extra folder, temporarily disabling your antivirus and then reinstalling Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. That should allow the program to install without creating that extra folder.
Malwarebytes is an important security program to protect any user's computer. It is light-weight, fast, and best of all, excellent at removing the latest infections that may be in the wild. Malwarebytes is updated numerous times throughout the day, which allows you to stay protected from threats as they come out. One of the best parts of the program is that not only will it scan your computer free, but it will also remove any malware it finds at no cost to you either.
While scanning and cleaning a computer using Malwarebytes is always free, upgrading to the Premium version offers many benefits. This includes real-time protection, anti-ransomware, anti-exploit, and malicious website protection features.
Real-time protection monitors your computer in real-time and if you attempt open a malicious program or file, Malwarebytes will block it and automatically quarantine the file. This protects your from running infections that are disguised as free downloads or malicious attachments.
The anti-ransomware feature protects you from existing and new ransomware threats that may infect your computer. When Malwarebytes anti-ransomware detects ransomware behavior, such as file encryption, it will automatically halt the process exhibiting this behavior so that it cannot continue encrypting your computer.
The anti-exploit feature protects your compuer from exploit kits that try to attack vulnerabilities found in Windows and your installed programs. If Malwarebytes anti-exploit detects an exploit kit on a site that you are visiting or one that is attempting to exploit your computer's vulnerabilities, Malwarebytes will block it before it can infect your computer.
Finally, the malicious website protection feature will block your computer from accessing known malicious sites. These sites are labeled as malicious if they are known to offer malware, adware, pups, in-browser miners, or are hosting exploit kits. By using the malicious protect feature, your computer will be blocked from threats before they have a chance to attack you.
Malwarebytes is an easy-to-use anti-malware application available in both a Free and Premium version. The Free version is well-known for its detection and removal capabilities, and the Premium version uses advanced protection technologies to proactively stop malware infections. Additionally, Malwarebytes offers a host of extra utilities as well as an approachable forum community to help you combat any piece of malware that exists in the wild.
Years after trying to use MBAM to remove malware from a friend's computer--and finding it completely useless for that task--I set up a VM and gave it another shot. I purposely found and placed two malicious applications on the VM; both were unknown to all scanners on VirusTotal, except for one generic detection (which was probably just a lucky guess). MBAM was oblivious to both as well. I activated each of the two malicious applications, and saw the resultant network activity, and MBAM remained utterly silent, even after a manual scan. Then I reset the VM and placed a well-known malware sample. MBAM seemed to detect it, but crashed and could not remove it. I rebooted, and the process repeated.
MBAM is pure garbage, but Malwarebytes has an astonishingly aggressive and effective marketing campaign in place. And there is an army of fools who just cannot tell how useless it is.
Pros: not what it use to be, to me it is junk. I use to have it years ago when it was very good and sold a forever license. Since their new version has come on, they no longer honor the forever license and it is way more trouble than it is worth. I uninstalled it with little to no problem and never looked back, it is still nothing but trouble and not nearly as good as IObit's advanced system care and their Malware
fighter. Which is also a antivirus software and a great cleaner. You can try it for 14 days I think, I buy mine and have been using it all for about 5 years now, their software is good, does the job and does it well and I have never looked back. Also are very excellent is Privazer and CCleaner, bleachbit........ Malwarebytes is little more than junk made to look good.
Bottom Line: Years after trying to use MBAM to remove malware from a friend's computer--and finding it completely useless for that task--I set up a VM and gave it another shot. Today's cybercriminals design increasingly sophisticated threats. Pitt Information Technology recommends that you protect your computer by installing antivirus software and using it conjunction with anti-malware (Malwarebytes) protection.
Malwarebytes is an anti-malware software that comes with a free 14-day trial for you to test. The software can quickly detect and remove malware and other malicious coding that your anti-virus does not usually detect. This application is not a replacement for any anti-virus services but works alongside it to help keep harmful programs off your computer.
Malwarebytes is a powerful add-on to any anti-virus software, scanning new applications before they have a chance to harm your computer. Once the free trial ends, you can select the free pricing option to have the Malwarebytes cleaning features still available. Other pricing levels add the option to protect your computer and adjust the number of devices that one license can protect.
The application goes beyond protecting you from malware by preventing phishing and fraud while you shop online. The Web Protection blocks scams, phishing sites, infected sites, and malicious links. This browser guard keeps you safe for shopping, signing up for services, and any other tasks you need to complete.
Malwarebytes is not a replacement for your anti-virus. Installing the software on its own will leave your computer vulnerable to virus attacks and hackers as the free version only cleans up an already infected computer. Malwarebytes Premium offers stronger protection, but it can still fail without an accompanying anti-virus.
The free version of the program only offers malware detection and removal, or scans. Premium offers all of the features you got a taste of during the trial: realtime protection, ransomware blocking, web protection, and exploit shielding.
Malwarebytes is a decent add-on to your standard anti-virus software that helps to keep malware off of your computer. It has a 14-day free trial, and once that expires you can choose the free option of only cleaning or the paid license that cleans and protects your PC.
Malwarebytes Inc. is an American Internet security company that specializes in protecting home computers, smartphones, and companies from malware and other threats. It has offices in Santa Clara, California; Clearwater, Florida; Tallinn, Estonia; Bastia Umbra, Italy; and Cork, Ireland.[3]
Malwarebytes Inc. was informally established in 2004.[6] CEO and founder Marcin Kleczynski, originally from Poland, was still a teenager attending high school in Bensenville, Illinois, and was working as a technician in a computer repair shop in Chicago.[7] He noticed that whenever infected computers arrived, the shop would typically reformat the computer entirely, rather than combat the virus, even if the infection was only minor. Kleczynski later discovered that, when his mother's computer became infected, neither McAfee nor Symantec would remove the malware from his system.[8] He later recalled "I've never been as angry as when I got my computer infected", and professed that his mother told him to fix it "under penalty of death".[9]
With one of the site's regulars, Bruce Harrison, Kleczynski wrote the inaugural version of the company's software.[9] In 2006, Kleczynski worked with a college roommate to produce a freely available program called "RogueRemover", a utility which specialized in fighting against a type of infection known as "rogues", which scam computer users into giving away their credit card information through fake anti-virus software. RogueRemover proved instrumental in developing Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, and Kleczynski was able to set up a forum which enabled him to improve the software through feedback.[8] ff782bc1db
