Ernest Albert Morris was born about 1865/6, and his birth was registered in March quarter of 1866 in Stourbridge, Staffordshire. His mother's maiden surname is recorded as Parton. Ernest's parents, James Morris and Sarah Ann Parton had married on 2 May 1852 in Dudley, Worcestershire.
In 1861, James and Sarah Ann Morris are with their children: Jane Ellen aged 6, William 5, James 4, Xantippy 2, and Walter aged 2 months. They are living at Bell Street, Kingswinford, Stourbridge, Staffordshire.
In 1871, the family are still living at Bell Street, Kingswinford. James and Sarah Ann are with children: Jane E. aged 16, William 15, James 13, Xantippe 11, Walter 10, Ernest A. 5, Benaiah S. 3, and Frederick Charles aged 2.
By 1881, The family have moved and are living at Lundhill Terrace, Havercroft, Hemsworth, Yorkshire. James and Sarah Ann are with children: William 25, James 23, Ernest Albert 15, Charles Frederick 13, and grandson Beraiah Silvanus aged 5.
Ernest Albert Morris was married in December 1890 at Wakefield to Emma Froggatt.
In 1891, Ernest Albert Morris is a 25 years old Coal Miner, with his 19 years old wife Emma living at Court 18, Providence Row, Stanley Cum Wrenthorpe, Wakefield.
Unfortunately, despite much searching, it has not been possible to locate the family in the 1901 census.
In 1911, Ernest Albert Morris is a 45 years old Miner at Maltby Main Colliery. He is with his wife Emma aged 39 and children: Selina aged 6, and William Henry aged 3. Ernest Albert and Emma have been married for 21 years, 6 children have been born, and 4 of them have died. Their address is recorded as Maltby Main Colliery.
On the morning of Thursday 31 March 1921, Ernest Albert was working at Maltby Main Colliery when he became ill complaining of chest pains, and he died about two hours later. His death aged 54 was registered in June quarter 1921 in Doncaster.

On the 1921 census, widow Emma Morris aged 46 is with her children: Selina 15, William Henry 12, Blanche aged 8, and her nephew Alec Froggatt 20. The family are living at 21 Schofield Crescent, Maltby, Near Rotherham.
In 1939, Emma Morris, widow, born 23 May 1872 is with her daughter and son in law Blanche and Maurice Hopkinson living at 21 Victoria Street, Maltby. (One entry has been redacted.)
Blanche Morris and Maurice Hopkinson had married in December 1933 in Rotherham district.
