By 1901, Horace Jepson is a 15 years old Coal-Horse Driver, Below Ground. He is with his parents Enoch and Sarah and siblings: Henrietta 14, William 12, Enoch 9, Edgar 7, Elizabeth 6, Kenneth 4, and Walter aged 8 weeks. The family are living at Old Brinsley, Basford, Nottinghamshire.
In 1911, Horace Jepson is recorded as a 27 years old Coal Miner Hewer. He is a boarder with Samuel Woods and family at 2 Kings Avenue, Maltby.
Horace was killed on Monday 21st August 1911 at Maltby Colliery. His death aged 26 was registered in September quarter 1911 in Doncaster.
