I was born and raised in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Growing up in an inner-city taught me the importance of community and adversity. I graduated from Harrisburg High School, Sci-Tech Campus, which is their college=preparatory campus. Upon graduating, I first attended West Chester University outside of Philadelphia, PA before transferring to Lock Haven University located in Rural Northern, PA. In this time, I studied business management and held numerous leadership positions on campus and as a professional. These positions include career development, multicultural advisory, advocacy/lobbying, excellence & inclusion. My education in business taught me that I have a deep passion for systems, optimization, and empathic leadership. This led me to my desire to continue working in higher education, which led me to Shippensburg University’s Counseling Department.
I’m currently pursuing a 60-credit degree in College Counseling & Student Affairs. Every day I embrace the opportunity to learn and challenge myself under the guidance of amazing faculty. I can’t wait to see what new opportunities will arise from this degree.
As I progress through my master’s program, my lenses on higher education, counseling, and student development continue to expand. It’s invigorating to further develop my perspective but also to make sense of my past experiences. With my recent experience as a student, my love of theory, curriculum, and practical experience prime me for a fruitful career as a student, professional helper, advocate, and lifelong learner.
