ABOUT ME

Hello and welcome to my page!

To start, I was born and raised in Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico. I lived there for the first 11 years of my life with my amazing mother, and two siblings- my older brother and sister. My mom, sister and I moved to the United States the summer before my 11th birthday. I have lived in Iowa for the past 20 years and call Wapello my hometown. I am proud of who I am and where I come from. All of my life experiences have shaped me into the person that I am today.

I graduated from Wapello Jr/Sr. High in 2009. I then attended Central College in Pella, Iowa and graduated from there in 2013 with my Bachelor's of Arts in Secondary Education and Spanish. While at Central College, I studied abroad in Granada, Spain at El Centro de Lenguas Modernas.

After graduating, I went back home and got my first teaching job at Mediapolis High School and Holy Trinity Catholic School as a Spanish teacher. After one year of teaching back home I moved to Oskaloosa, Iowa. I continued my Spanish teaching career at Oskaloosa High School and am currently going into my 11th year as an educator! Time flies when you are having fun.
