We propose to showcase our (in development) “Bio-inspired” robotics toolkit with Colorado Academic Standards (CAS) aligned activities. Kits will allow students to explore principles of biology and engineering by performing hands-on investigations using electromechanical elements that they don’t have access to at school such as origami-based leg and body modules. We expect to present our storyline approach to designing a sample curriculum using these kits and demo the same.

BLORK. BLUURF. GRUMP-A-DOOO. BJ Novak’s “The Book With No Pictures” brings about a variety of emotions and feelings for both its readers (those tricked) and its listeners (the tricksters). In this session, participants will listen to a reading of the book and will then use markers and shrink sheets to represent an abstract of how the book made them feel. These will be shrunk down to create a keychain for participants to take with them!
