Meet Your Instructors
Evie and Kara O'Dor are a mother-daughter team of artists and makers. Both are certified elementary teachers in the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City school system and have enjoyed co-teaching art classes together for years.
Evie and Kara co-teach all camps together. We don't outsource our instruction to counselors or counselors-in-training, so your child is ensured direct instruction with certified teachers. We share a philosophy of creation that places emphasis on process over product. Camps give students the opportunity to use real tools and materials in an authentic way. There is no "make & take" here. Each product is as unique as the camper making it!

Hello, I'm Evie.
I love my day job, teaching fifth grade students at Rashkis Elementary School. I'm also an artist. I especially love art that uses undervalued materials, such as paper and cardboard. My teaching certifications are elementary K-6 with a concentration in reading, and art K-12.
Fun fact, when our family was young, we were all puppeteers, performing throughout North Carolina.
Hi, I'm Kara.
I'm a second grade teacher at Ephesus Elementary. I have a Masters Degree in Scottish History, a BA in Elementary Education, and have been an artist as long as I could hold a crayon. I am a painter, illustrator, and fiber artist. I'm CPR and First-Aid certified for both children and adults. karaodor.com
Fun fact! My mom still owes me $15 from one of those puppet shows back when I was 9.
