Makayla Palmer

I am an Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. My research interests center around analyzing effects of public insurance policies. I have research on subsidized insurance, Medicaid, Marketplace insurance, pregnancy related outcomes, teen smoking behaviors, and foster children. I am also working on Medicare and end-of-life care decisions. I am also passionate about health insurance literacy and would love to turn that into a research area, though currently I am channeling that passion into teaching my Health Economics students.
