Throughout the process of making my cover, I did not use a grid in the front because I wanted to create motion and in doing so, I had to break from the grid and let the type flow with each other. In the back, I used a grid to layout the song titles and facts of the album, but once again leaving room for the type to break the grid and create more organic rhythm. I used the primary colors in the colored album and used different opacities of blue as well because I liked how they looked together and was completely different compared to the original album. Using these colors as well also allowed me to put more emphasis on the word “Motion” in yellow against the red background, and repeated blue type on the front.
