If you want a versatile, heavy-duty storage solution that doubles as a general garage organizer for tools and bikes while keeping your EV cable safe, choose Maizengauto EV Charger Holder; if you need a dedicated, space-saving dock specifically engineered to protect your J1772 plug from rain and fit into tight parking spots, choose Anina EV Charger Holder.
• Maizengauto EV Charger Holder: Its biggest strength is the massive 176-pound weight capacity and dual-purpose design for hanging anything from ladders to cables, but its trade-off is a standard hook shape that takes up more horizontal space than a specialized dock.
• Anina EV Charger Holder: Its standout feature is the unique 45-degree downward angle mounting that shields the connector from water and saves room in narrow garages, though it is strictly limited to holding just the charging nozzle and lacks the general utility of a multi-use hook.
• Who should buy Maizengauto: Choose this if you have a cluttered garage and need one sturdy anchor point for multiple items including your EV charger.
• Who should buy Anina: Pick this if your primary concern is protecting your expensive charging plug from weather damage or fitting your setup into a cramped driveway corner.
The Maizengauto unit is built with a philosophy of durability and versatility that extends well beyond just managing an electric vehicle cord. At its core, this is a heavy-duty steel hook designed to handle significant load without bending or breaking. The product information confirms it is constructed from reinforced carbon steel with a protective coating, which directly translates to rust resistance for both indoor garage walls and outdoor siding. This isn't a flimsy plastic clip; it is a piece of hardware meant to last. While you will likely never hang a car off this hook, that specification tells us something vital about its build quality: the metal is thick, the welds are solid, and the mounting screws (two stainless steel units included) are designed to hold fast under stress.
For the electric vehicle owner, the primary function here is cable management. The large J-hook design provides ample surface area to wrap the charging cable neatly. The anti-slip rubber coating is a critical detail for anyone who has ever dealt with a slippery charger slipping out of a loose mount. This coating keeps the cable securely in place, preventing scratches on the connector and avoiding unnecessary wear on the insulation. By keeping the cable off the ground, you eliminate tripping hazards and keep your charging area clean. The design allows you to hang the entire connector, not just the nozzle, which is helpful if you prefer to coil the whole cable after every charge session.
However, this product is not a minimalist's dream. Because it is a large J-hook, it protrudes significantly from the wall. If you are parking a wide SUV or truck in a tight spot next to the charger, the hook itself could be an obstruction. Furthermore, while it is marketed heavily as a "garage hook" for bikes, ladders, shovels, and strollers, its specific EV features are secondary to its general utility. If you only own an EV and nothing else that needs hanging, you might find this to be over-engineered for your single purpose. It is the ideal choice for a homeowner who views their garage as a multipurpose workshop where the charger is just one of many items needing secure storage.

The installation process is straightforward, requiring two stainless steel screws for a secure mount. The black color helps it blend into most garage environments. Ultimately, this is a robust tool for the organized, busy household where the charger must coexist with other heavy items.
In contrast, the Anina EV Charger Holder approaches the problem of cable storage with a highly specialized focus on the charging connector itself and environmental protection. The defining characteristic of this product is its downward angle design. Unlike a simple hook that hangs vertically, this unit mounts at a 45-degree angle. This geometric decision serves two distinct purposes. First, it positions the charging socket so that gravity pulls away from the opening, effectively shielding it from rain, snow, and debris. The sloping top acts as a small roof, directing water away from the electrical contacts. This makes it an excellent choice for owners who live in areas with frequent precipitation or who park outdoors without a covered carport.
The second benefit of the 45-degree angle is spatial efficiency. In many North American homes, driveways are narrow, or garages are packed with shelving and vehicles. A vertical hook can sometimes interfere with the path needed to plug in the car. The Anina holder creates a compact footprint, tucking the connector into a recessed position that is less likely to be bumped by a passing door or a swinging side mirror. This makes it particularly suitable for cramped parking spots where clearance is at a premium.
Material science also plays a larger role in the Anina design compared to the Maizengauto option. This is a crucial detail for EV chargers, which can generate significant heat during high-amperage charging sessions. Using a material with higher thermal stability ensures the plastic housing of the charger won't warp or degrade over time when exposed to the warmth of the plugged-in device or hot summer sun. The steel bracket provides the necessary structural support, ensuring the unit remains stable even when the heavy cable is pulled or moved.
This product is strictly a J1772 compatible holster. It is designed to hold the charging nozzle and keep the cable tidy, but it does not offer the same versatility as the Maizengauto hook. You cannot hang a bicycle or a ladder from it. It is a single-function device optimized for one job: protecting the J1772 plug and organizing the immediate cable path. If your primary pain point is a wet, dirty, or damaged charging connector, or if you struggle to find space in your garage to install a bulky hook, this is the solution. It is for the driver who prioritizes the longevity of their charging equipment and the cleanliness of the connector above all else.
• Best for weather protection → Anina EV Charger Holder, due to its 45-degree downward slope that actively sheds rain and snow from the connector.
• Best for narrow spaces → Anina EV Charger Holder, as the angled design minimizes the horizontal profile and prevents interference with nearby vehicles.
• Best for heat resistance → Anina EV Charger Holder, utilizing PA66 material that handles temperatures 40°F higher than standard ABS plastics found in competitors.
• Best for cable versatility → Maizengauto EV Charger Holder, with its extra-wide J-hook allowing you to store the entire coiled cable and connector together.
• Best for heavy-duty durability → Maizengauto EV Charger Holder, featuring reinforced carbon steel construction rated for extreme weight loads.
• Best for cleaning during car washes → Maizengauto EV Charger Holder, because the open hook design allows water to run freely off the cable without pooling, whereas the Anina's enclosed angle might trap dirt if not wiped down regularly.
• Best for simplicity → Anina EV Charger Holder, offering a streamlined, no-fuss mount that does exactly one thing very well.
After analyzing the specifications and design intent of both products, I would personally buy the Maizengauto EV Charger Holder. While the Anina unit offers clever engineering for weather protection, the Maizengauto option provides superior value through its sheer robustness and flexibility. The ability to hang my charger alongside my garden tools and winter tires on a single, rust-resistant steel hook simplifies my garage layout significantly. More importantly, the open J-hook design is far superior for car washing; when I hose down my driveway or pressure wash the garage floor, the Maizengauto hook allows water to pass right through and dry instantly, whereas an angled enclosure can sometimes trap moisture or require more careful wiping. If you want a mount that grows with your storage needs and stands up to years of heavy use, the Maizengauto is the clear winner. However, if your driveway is perpetually wet and you refuse to take any risk with your connector, the Anina remains a worthy specialist.
While specific temperature ratings aren't listed, the use of PA66 plastic with high heat resistance suggests it is durable against thermal extremes, and the downward angle helps prevent ice buildup inside the socket.
No, the product includes an anti-slip rubber coating specifically designed to prevent scratches, slipping, and wear on the charging cable and connector.
Yes, the Anina unit comes with dual mounting options and is designed for easy wall installation on standard surfaces, similar to the Maizengauto kit which includes stainless steel screws.
