I am a Provost Faculty Fellow and Assistant Professor at Dartmouth College. I hold a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
My research interests lie in development economics, education, and labor.
I was born in a rural area without hospitals, electricity, or running water, and I’m a first-gen to ever set foot in a school. My research is rooted in those early experiences. I don’t approach development challenges in the abstract—I’ve lived them, understand them deeply, and think hard about the why’s and how’s. There’s a piece of my story in every project I take on. My work focuses on expanding people's agency in areas such as education, fertility, and child marriage. For every project, I have an anecdote. Ask me about them if we meet at a conference.
