Dr. Mahipal Kulariya is currently working as a Postdoctoral Fellow at IIT Bombay, India. He completed his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) at the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, IIT Mandi, India, under the prestigious Prime Minister’s Research Fellows (PMRF) Scheme. His research primarily focuses on understanding local construction practices and their implications on the multi-hazard performance of buildings through pre-hazard and post-hazard reconnaissance surveys, identifying region-specific vulnerability attributes, proposing methodologies for rapid visual screening to assess the multi-hazard vulnerability of buildings, and proposing efficient intensity measures for fragility assessment of buildings. Additionally, his current research interests focus on developing methodologies for resilience assessment of built infrastructure situated in multi-hazard-prone hilly regions and enhancing community resilience, primarily focusing on healthcare facilities.
