I am a physicist working in the area of turbulence and nonlinear dynamics, in particular, magnetohydrodynamic turbulence, dynamo, buoyancy driven turbulence, liquid metals, high-performance computing. For details on our work, refer to our group page http://turbulencehub.org

I have written the following books: Physics of Buoyant Flows: From Instabilities to Turbulence; Energy Transfers in Fluid Flows: Multiscale and Spectral Perspectives; and Introduction to Mechanics.

Our group has developed several opensource parallel programs: TARANG, SARAS, and TEJAS. They are hosted at http://turbulencehub.org. The website also contains vidoes and images of simulations: See the link below: http://turbulencehub.org/index.php/animations/videos/

I recieved Swarnajayanti fellowship (2006), INSA Teachers Award (2016), Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Cray HPC Award (2018). I am an INSA Fellow (2020). I hold Sanjay Mittal Chair in IIT Kanpur.

I am also interested in school education and belong to some voluntary groups namely Swami Vivekananda Vidyalaya, Lodhar, and Jagriti Bal Vikas Samiti. See eakshar for some of the educational contents created by us.
